Cornucopia

It's fun to have the time to make things again!!!
easy-peasy little nutcup for your Thanksgiving table
Here's all you need: sugar cones, a cup of HOT water, microwave and a pencil or screw driver for shaping.
Place your cone, pointed side down, in a cup of HOT water for 20 seconds
Put in the microwave for 20 seconds.  Take it out immediately and shape the end using your 'shaper tool'.    Let dry and...
you have a cute and easy Cornucopia nutcup!
Happy Thanksgiving... I am so thankful for all my family near and far, friends near and far, the Military and Missionaries near and far.  My hope is that we can all enjoy a calm peaceful day of reflection with those we love with thankfulness in our hearts.

NOT under control

I am still not able to get this life under control and blog consistently, yep... being pulled in too many directions.  Not a complaint, just a fact.
I did want you all to know that I had an experience last Friday that makes me fully aware that I am in Arizona.
Yep saw me one of them scorpions... in the bathroom... a large one, scorpion, not bathroom.
I ran like crazy.

Welcome to Arizona Lisa.

Sedona in October

 I LOVE THIS FOUNTAIN!
Honey, I want one just like this ...with Pumpkins to last all year!  (reminds me of my Half Moon Bay home!)  Well let me just say that out here in the AZ heat... they would have to be ceramic.
We had a fun trip to Sedona---
Here's King Derek!
and the whole family, well almost.. without me and Uncle Eddy.. (we're both so camera shy!)
 So Arizona/Sedona in a nutshell:

Just a little Wedding in Arizona

While moving from WA to AZ my cousin called (we were about half way through  Idaho).  Her daughter was getting married... and since I was now going to be in Arizona... and she knows how much I love making things... well she needed help getting all the wedding stuff-s together.  I LOVED IT!!! I love weddings and making things.. and this would give my sanity something else to do besides stress over moving.

Here is the cute couple:
and here are a few of the things I made:
baby headbands, bridesmaids sashes
more baby headbands
Bridesmaids head pieces, (but they actually wore them around their waists!)  CUTE little baskets I found at Target to put them all in!

Then it was on to chalk boards, letters, banners (oh my)
 This is the bride's headpiece:
And my favorite, the silk 'throw' bouquet!
  More to come!

One of Life's many lessons

Welcome to November

NOVEMBER!!!
Well let me tell you, in Arizona it still feels like August!! or the August I am 'used' to.

Yes, my life has changed and I finally feel like I have settled down a bit to start back up writing on my blog!!

The update:
August 11th we left Sequim, WA (When I say 'we' I mean my mother and me, Rod had already transfered to AZ in June)
August 24th we moved into OUR house in Lichfield Park, AZ
- then the ordeal of opening up a TON of boxes started... and still contues to this day. Here are a couple of pictures from moving day (this lasted for several weeks).

In the middle of all this unpacking we had my cousin's daughter's wedding that I was helping with.. then... my dear SIL and BIL came to visit....

BUT today, November first... it is back to unpacking and moving boxes around. (although I do have a full time job that keeps me busy too)

Have I mentioned that we are closer to 3 of our kids and now 4 grandkids!!!  Here's a couple of pictures from Halloween's Trunk or Treat....

I'm happy to be back blogging.  I'll try to keep up...but family duties are abounding EVERYWHERE!!!
