Pinterest Highlights and Bombs.

Thursdays I'm going to let you in on my Pinterest Highlights and Bombs!

Last weekend Mr. Produce wanted me to make him a Rhubarb pie for his birthday. (more about that tomorrow).
Bottom line (pun intended) the pie was juicy and spilled ALL OVER THE OVEN.
What A Mess!!
Pinterest said that if you use baking soda and white vinegar, you can clean the oven in a snap!
After my first initial trial of trying to scrape it off... I realized that I needed a better solution.
before:
I sprinkled baking soda all over the bottom of the oven(especially where it was crusty), then poured white vinegar over the mess, and let bubble for a while.  I left it on for about 5 hours (suggested time is overnight).  Then I wiped and scrubbed it off.
I got most all of the crusty stuff.. (except in the upper left corner), I'll have to do it over for that area. The front area is what was there to begin with, not crusty at all but a greasy baked on mess that I did NOT put very much baking soda on!

All in all it did a pretty good job.  It took elbow grease but all the crusty baked on 'pie' goodness was gone!

I give it a thumbs up, and a pass.  I just think I have to work harder at getting the back area cleaned up.

The Pitty Train has left the station

The pitty train has left the station, and I have gotten off!!!
Yes Sir-eee.  I am tired of riding that ole' downer.  I am tired of crying and wallowing!
New day, new week and I am ready for my new life (well I have been ready for my new life for 16months now but who's counting!)

It will be hard not stepping back on the train platform, but I am determined to ignore all the bad and look at the good!
For today I am choosing to be happy.
More than just slapping a smile on my face, I will be slapping a smile on my heart and counting my blessings.

So to start this week out right (before you think I'm crazy, yesterday was a holiday so 'really' today is the first day of the week!)... I am making a change:
I will be parting my hair on the 'other' side.

Here fishy fishy fishy

Last week was Gone Fishin' day at our office.  We leave the computers and phones behind and go out to the nearest lake to go fishin'.
It was a beautiful clear calm morning...
even if you didn't catch fish it was beautiful.
There were a few fish to catch:(all little)
Just riding in the boat on the lake on such a beautiful morning was treat enough.

A wonderful day of fishing, relaxing and eating fun foods...and then Monday was back to the grindstone. (opposition in all things)

Food Fun Friday- Popcorn

This might be the easiest recipe yet...
for nice healthy popcorn (without all the chemicals that microwave pre-bagged popcorn has).
 you need:
 and about 1/4C of this:
put it in this for about 2 minutes or until you hear it stop popping:
Then you can add what ever toppings you would like: Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, spicy chili peppers, butter buds, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray, or even real butter.
This is my go to snack when I get home from work so I don't CONSUME everything in the fridge while I am making dinner.
It's a nice little snack.

Patience is not in my volcabulary

*When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.
*pick yourself up, brush yourself off and start all over again
     *Bloom Where you are planted.
       *Keep a stiff upper lip.
           *Be optimistic.
               *Others have it worse
I am a shallow person.
My patience is not as developed as it should be.
I can only hang-on for so long, and frankly sometimes I fall.  I DO pick myself up, dust myself off and start all over again.
But there are times I wallow.
Lately I find myself wallowing more and more…
I'd like to share our New Adventure as I call it…in hopes it will jump start me (shame me) back on the fun bus!

Even when we were dating (2005) Mr. Produce talked about leaving WA state and moving to warm AZ and eventually retiring there.  I though that might be fine because daughter #1 was going to get married and move there to start her practice.

Fast forward to 2010:  the time has come -tomakethemove-.  Grandbabies are starting to pop out...two sons have moved to AZ… So 2010, the week after Thanksgiving we started the adventure by repainting every room in the house..then new carpet throughout the house then pack up all non-essentials and ‘personal décor’ and clean clean clean.    March 1st we put it on the market….and a week later we had my mom's house on the market too.
And waited …Waited March-A-M-J-J-A-S-O-N-D-J-F,(mind you EVERY.DAY.EVERYTHING is wiped down and cleaned and put away just in case a realtor comes by while we are at work.) Finally February a family moving to Sequim bought our house (337days).  Everything was packed and another storage unit was moved into.
Now it has been 435 days and we are still waiting for someone to buy my mom’s house! 435days, 10440hours, 626400minutes waiting for the phone to ring and show the house to a potential buyer…..waiting…waiting. (did I mention that I am not a patient person)

This is the goal, so..we wait, with a smile on our faces, EVER SO PATIENT.(sarcastic font used here)

A question I have to ask myself everyday is… have I learned patience yet?
I’d like to say YES so I can end the lesson.
But obviously I am impatient about learning patience
Today I am holding on to hope that:
