Wednesday Wisdom

WISDOM FOR EVERY DAY

Why I blog! Why do you?

I do think about this a lot...
when I think of the friends I've made
when I read comments from others to other friends I marvel at the supportive community out there
when I come across something really cool and want to share it
almost every day as I search for something worthwhile to share

I started this because my daughter said it was a cool thing to do... so she signed me up and taught me a few things.
DH wishes I would make money blogging.
I enjoy my new performance art. Hey, don't judge, I don't sing or act or direct anymore...
This is a new way to learn and share creativity.
It does take a lot of time, time that 'could' be used for other things like exercising or practicing the piano or watching movies or sewing or reading...
Blogging is like a drug to me...I'm always thinking of it..and I can't wait to get back to my reader list and friends!

Blogging, Diet Coke and old glass ornaments... they are my drugs of choice.

Will anyone else list reasons they blog?
(I need to add more excuses, I mean REASONS for my blogging lifestyle)

I was a naughty girl

for 6 months I have had the motto:
I have been cleaning and de-cluttering and down sizing and boxing and throwing out and giving away and in general have been a clean green clearing machine.  After 5 months of NOT going to every garage sale this town has to offer... I actually went to a church sponsored garage sale and was pretty bad... My obsession got the best of me:  I bought 3 boxes of:
(I had already packed up the other box before I remembered to take a picture.)
shhhhh,  don't tell Mr. Produce, he thinks I have enough!
ha ha, NEVER enough old glass ornaments, ESPECIALLY pink!

There is a secret in these cookies:  sunshine?  sunlight?  no lemon zest!
I found these yum0licious cookies here:

It's all about the Wedding!

First of all let me just say...  JUNE...  JUNE?????  how did this happen.  It has been so cold and wet and dreary here in Washington that it just feels like winter has gone on and on and on and before you know it... JUNE is here? (but really it does not feel like June in any sense shape or form).  The flowers are just starting to bloom, and who knows when the lavender will bud and be ready for picking...   but I digress because my mind is REALLY all about the Wedding.

The wedding is exactly three months away.  Guess we will just have to kick things up a notch.  There are several things not decided (bridesmaid dresses to name one).
I've spent more time looking at pictures and designs than I have making things.  I know that I am a visual person and usually if I can 'see' it I can make it.
so here is my small little gallery of ideas and designs that I'm working toward:
I think I'll be making lots of flowers (for bridesmaids hair and maybe even the corsages)
I'm gathering up supplies to make some of these cool place cards:
This is the cake they choose: this exact one!
I just love banners... I hope to make a couple
This is a really cute favor box to house a piece of yummy chocolate.   Thank you http://www.donteatthepaste.com/ for your free printable.
I think something like this.. with sparkles and maybe a touch of delicate white flowers.
Love the sign
or... how about THIS ... Thank you for free printables!
and Kieri, how about this for the chairs outdoors????  although it sure looks like a lot of set up work!!
I think these are the shoes she finally choose
and look at all this yummmy red black and white goodness
Let me just end by saying that it is hard putting a wedding together LONG DISTANCE... and even it is long distance for the bride since she's in San Diego and the wedding takes place near San Francisco.
sigh, ah the things we do for our kids, (wink)
