It's the day of hearts and love- Ever had a bad one???

One of the blogs I follow (the Rowdy Stroudys) told about her worst Valentines day... and asked for other 'bad' Valentine's day experiences.... I all of sudden remembered one that I really hadn't thought about for years.......
As a freshman in college I was friends with absolutely NO ONE of the opposite sex! So it was weird that on Valentines day I received a beautiful box, a LARGE beautiful gold box all tied up in a large red ribbon. On the card was written: from your Valentine, Robert (Robert was the very short, older guy/man that cleaned up the cafeteria. And he was in our ward...)  I felt my face turn red as I opened the beautiful box and saw a dozen long stems.
Yes,  just a dozen STEMS. (seems my roommate's brother worked at a florist and they all thought it would be fun to send me STEMS)
I displayed them proudly!!
andNOW... yes...you guessed it, YOUR turn to tell about your worst Valentines day experience.  (and Cherie you can tell yours again!...a lesson worth repeating!)
me, only withOUT the actual RED BUDS!!!

I really do love having everyone chime in about their lifes and opinions... I still laugh when I recall all the pros and cons of calling people names like sweetie, and darling and dude!!!!  LOVE YOU GUYS! Here's my appreciation of the day.... a bouquet of flowers for you!!!   WITH the blossoms on!!

Happy Valentine's Lisa ~
Well, actually it is happening as we speak, getting news that does NOT make our hearts sing.

May your day be full of joy & blessings ~

I met my husband on Valentine's Day, so it's hard for me to think of any bad V-Day stories. Having been only 16 when we met, maybe it's just that I can't remember them!!

;)

PS. Your stems story is kinda funny, but kinda mean, too. I'm glad you had a sense of humor!

stems? that woulda sucked. just saying. I wouldn't have been as gracious as you. They'd have been sent back or trashed. As least you didn't marry Robert the cafeteria guy! Can you imagine being his wife?? ugh. Hmmm perhaps my sense of humor is lost on this?
I can't think of a bad one off the top of my head. Lemme think.

That was not nice to send you stems and say they were from someone that did not even know about those stems. Had that happened to me I probably would have gone to Robert and asked if he wanted to help me think of a way to get back at the guy who sent the stems. :) No bad Valentine Day experiences here. Hope you have a very Happy Valentines Day. Hugs

Honey, I call everyone sweetie, baby or darlin'! It's just the way I fly!!! Heeehehehe!!! :o)

My worst was in the eight grade when we exchanged names for Valentine's gifts. Everyone got their pretty heart packages and I got this thing wrapped up in a brown paper bag. Inside was a block of something square about the size of a single serve milk carton. It was brown and sugary lookin'. Up walked Charles smilin' ear to ear sayin',"do ya like it??? (grunt-grunt-) I made it myself."

Of course I babbled about how much I loved his gift but inside my eight grade self was dyin'!!!

I took the block of tinged sugar home and our critters wouldn't even touch it. My Dad did remind me that poor Charles probably worked very hard on my gift and that he may not of had the money to buy a gift like everyone else.

Lookin' back on that day I'm sorry for the attitude I had and wish I'd appreciated that homemade treat in the spirit it was given.

God bless ya'll and have a marvelous Valentine's Day!!! :o)

I can't think of a bad one. Sometimes they are just a normal day. Is that bad?

I know I'm wayyyy late on this post, but my worst one was in the 4th grade. I had a crush on twins. They were the cutest boys, Darryl and Jerryl. Yes, really. Anyway, everyone had to bring Valentine's to share - and you couldn't exclude anyone. So I made out all my cards, but on D & J's, I put "From your secret admirer". Well, 4th graders aren't as dumb as you'd think... they figured out that they would just have to realize who they DIDN'T get a Valentine from - and that would tell who the Secret Admirer was. I wish I was smarter than those twins, let me tell you. I thought I'd die and never wanted to go back to school again. SO embarrassing!!
