forbidden subjects

There are three subjects that I do not like talking about:
the ex, Cancer, and eating healthy (aka Diet)
After a wonderful week on vacation where we did nothing.
walk, eat, nap, eat, walk to the beach, eat, blog, eat, read, eat, ... well you get the picture.
Now that I am back home, my clothes do not fit.
It is time to eat healthy

I have these quotes posted to my fridge:
Weight loss is at least 50 percent attitude. If you're not truly ready to make a full-time commitment to losing weight, chances of long-term success are pretty slim.
Bottom line is that this motivation has to come from within you.

Strengthen your resolve and recharge your motivation every single day with positive self talk and daily or weekly goals

When you view a diet as a short-term deviation from your typical eating habits rather than a long-term lifestyle change, you will almost certainly have a hard time maintaining your weight loss.
A 'diet' should be viewed as a launching pad for a long term lifestyle change. That's because to lose weight and keep it off forever, you really will have to permanently change your eating habits. The real trouble starts when you allow one "splurge" to snowball into an all-out eating frenzy.

I just had to get that off my chest and share with you, my best-blog-friends my current situation. I will try to keep the moaning and groaning to a minimum. When I got married almost 5 years ago, I was pretty healthy and felt good in my skin. My skin is stretched to the limit (as in this is the most I have ever weighed in my life) and I am not healthy or happy in my skin. I am announcing publicly on my blog that I am striving to do better. One day at a time. One meal at a time. One short walk at a time.
Thank you for listening.

They say "Gaining Weight is all in your head"--of course it is--that's where your mouth is! ~My Diana.

I went on the South Beach Diet last spring...I've lost and kept off 20 lbs so far. What's so cool is the way my winter clothes fit me this year...it's enough to keep me going!
Hang in there!
p.s. Zumba helped too!

Moan and groan away, my friend!! I could use a little "skin loosening" myself!

Here's another quote, if you can stand it, that really helped a friend of mine: "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!" Hope that helps! Good luck, I know you can do it!!
