I love yard sales

disclaimer:
I live in a small town (2hours from Seattle) where 65% of the population is over 65. There are a LOT of yard sales ...for many reasons: downsizing is most popular, death, moving to nursing home and just plain boredom. Speaking of boredom 80% of the 65% go to garage sales out of boredom, and buy more crap for their family to get rid of when they move or die. Most garage/yard/estate sales are on Friday, (us working stiffs are slaving away) I do hit up a couple during my lunch hour, but I really like getting to the sales early in the morning.

This weekend (4th of July) the garage sales were few and far between. There were only 4 on Friday, luckily I had the day off. I found these:
curtains for $2.00. I liked the color/pattern and thought what the heck
well ... they look great! We had brown blackout curtains (see them behind the "new" ones.) So now I'll just chop off the bottom and they will look springy/summery and we'll STILL have the black out curtains for husband =who has to go to bed early.
there here are my assortment of other things:
2 bulletin boards for my monthly craft class (50cents each).
book on slipcover & upholstery for $3.00
6 jars to organize&fill with beautiful things ($1.00 for all of them)
and a little silver vase to fill with roses from the garden (25cents)
and yea! found more old ornaments to make my wreaths! and they weren't even red, better colors! The whole box (4 boxes of ornaments, junk I threw away, lights and a round table cloth) for $3.00
